Oil exploration, storage, transportation, refining, and distribution all come with the risk of spills. Oil spills both on land and water are a common and immensely destructive occurrence across the globe. The archaea microbe consortium has been tested by Louisiana State University and found to be the most effective bioremediation agent for oil spills.
